I designed the Roman 12 to be a reasonable compromise between utility, performance, and fun. Length and sleekness (speed) were traded for stability, maneuverability, and manageability. One person can handle and launch it. Plans show details to build it with or without the top deck sheeting. Roman 12 Gallery

The Meander 16 is a completely conventional canoe constructed from plywood using the stitch and glue method. It's not pedal powered and it's not a kayak but the Meander 16 was a fun project. I built it to be able to take my family exploring on some of the waterways in our area which are inaccessible to a propeller driven craft. Meander Gallery
